Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing the performance of critical network infrastructure and systems for our clients. You will play a key role in troubleshooting complex network and IT infrastructure issues, ensuring the availability and security of services, and leading initiatives to enhance our NOC operations.

As a Senior NOC Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in Microsoft technologies, virtualization, networking, and IT security to manage and support enterprise-level environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and clients to ensure high-quality services and solutions are delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Monitoring & Incident Response:
    • Oversee 24/7 network operations, ensuring maximum uptime and performance.
    • Monitor and manage network infrastructure, servers, and applications using industry-standard NOC tools.
    • Respond to and troubleshoot network issues, escalations, and incidents promptly to minimize service disruption.
    • Maintain real-time visibility of system health, performance metrics, and alerts.
  • Network Infrastructure & Optimization:
    • Design, implement, and optimize network topologies for clients, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
    • Provide recommendations for capacity planning, hardware upgrades, and network optimization.
    • Manage and maintain VPNs, firewalls, routers, switches, and other critical networking components.
  • Microsoft Technologies Expertise:
    • Support and manage Microsoft-based environments, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Azure services.
    • Work on patch management and ensure timely updates for Microsoft systems.
    • Provide advanced troubleshooting for Microsoft-based technologies and ensure seamless integration across environments.
  • Virtualization & Cloud Technologies:
    • Manage and troubleshoot virtualized environments using VMware, Hyper-V, and other virtualization technologies.
    • Support and optimize cloud infrastructure, including Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments.
    • Ensure seamless operation of virtual machines, containers, and network resources within cloud platforms.
  • IT Security & Compliance:
    • Implement and enforce security best practices for network infrastructure and client environments.
    • Monitor security events, conduct vulnerability assessments, and mitigate risks to ensure compliance with industry standards.
    • Ensure all NOC activities align with established security protocols, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers in the NOC team.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to proactively identify and resolve network and infrastructure issues.
    • Contribute to the development of NOC processes, procedures, and automation strategies to improve efficiency.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, incidents, and resolutions.
    • Create and present regular performance reports and incident summaries to senior management and clients.
    • Ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and operational standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in network operations, NOC, or similar IT support roles.
    • In-depth experience with Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Azure).
    • Strong hands-on expertise with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
    • Proven experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs).
    • Extensive knowledge of IT security principles, best practices, and tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, etc.).
  • Certifications (preferred but not required):
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent.
    • CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent security certification.
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or similar virtualization certification.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficient in troubleshooting network connectivity issues, server environments, and system performance.
    • Expertise in using NOC monitoring tools and ticketing systems (SolarWinds, Nagios, ServiceNow, etc.).
    • Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python) to improve workflows and incident response.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams effectively.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
    • Team-oriented with a proactive, self-motivated attitude.
    • Ability to scope project efforts and collaborate with Account Management & Sales personnel to create projects.
